Tantra

The word Tantra brings a lot of confusion as it has been misunderstood and abused. Tantra is an ancient mystical tradition that has its origins in the Himalayas and that is articulated in the Sanskrit scriptures called tantras. It is closely related to Shaivism and Buddhism. Tantra is a way of seeing and understanding reality that challenges and transforms you to the deepest levels of your being.

Tantra means ‘wisdom (tan) that saves (tra)’ and can more loosely be translated as ‘weaving’ or ‘connecting’. Tantra starts from the body. It is only through the body and the senses that we exist in this world. In Tantra the body is not sinful, but a vehicle for spiritual growth. Tantra teaches you to listen to the wisdom of your body and helps you to remember who you are and how to deeply connect with others. Tantric wisdom is embodied. You cannot learn it through books. It is transmitted through meditations and practices.

Tantra is about remembering, connecting, stretching your awareness, and expanding your capacity for joy. Tantra is entering a world of magic and mystery.
